ASSOCIATE IN ARTS DEGREE (AA)
SPECIFIC DEGREE REQUIREMENTS [TRANSFER]
The Associate in Arts (AA) degree is designed to provide students with the foundation for transferring to a four-year college or university. The transfer plans of study provide recommended coursework that will help prepare a student for continued education in their selected field of study.
In addition to the General Requirements for degrees listed in the current College Catalog, candidates for the Associate in Arts (AA) degree must complete at least 60 credit hours of Transfer Credit (TC) courses including the General Education requirements listed below. See the General Transfer Information page in current Catalog for more information on transferring including information on the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI). Students must maintain an overall grade point average of 2.00 (C). All students must complete the specific degree requirements in effect for the AA degree according to the Catalog of Record listed in their academic records.

E. PHYSICAL AND LIFE SCIENCES (7 credit hours) | One course must be a Life Science and one must be a Physical Science. Also, at least one course must contain a laboratory experience.

F. HUMANITIES AND FINE ARTS (9 credit hours) | At least one course must be a Humanities course and at least one must be a Fine Arts course. The third course may be taken from either group.

ICC’s courses approved by the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) are posted on the itransfer website: www.itransfer.org. While a foreign language is not required for graduation at ICC, students are strongly advised to check the requirements of the program at the college or university to which they intend to transfer.
