TRUCK DRIVER TRAINING COURSES (TKDR)

TKDR 110 - TRUCK DRIVING

Prerequisite: Department approval. This course is designed to prepare individuals for a career as a commercial driver and leads to a Tractor Trailer Driver Certificate. Students will develop proficiency in operating a vehicle and will study trucking regulations, reporting requirements, map reading and trip planning. Upon successful completion of course work, students will take the Secretary of State Class A Skills Test. The course requires 160 total hours which includes 40 hours of classroom and 120 hours of yard work and behind-the-wheel practice. Course charges include tuition and truck driver instruction fee.
