PHYSC 090 - INTRODUCTION TO SCIENTIFIC LITERACY
This course will facilitate student development of science literacy through the implementation of student/faculty-generated science investigations, utilizing instruction across disciplines in collaboration with faculty members in all departments. This course is intended specifically for students to prepare for transfer level science courses.

PHYSC 110 - ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT (P9 900L)
Prerequisite: Approved reading placement score, or equivalent. This course provides students not majoring in science with an opportunity to study energy and environment while learning basic concepts of physical science. It surveys topics such as the scientific method; energy and power; the interconnectedness of energy and the environment; energy use and society; electricity; fossil fuels; nuclear power; alternative energy sources; air pollution and climate change.

PHYSC 114 - INTRODUCTION TO ASTRONOMY (P1 906L)
Prerequisite: Approved reading placement score, or equivalent. This course explores the origin and nature of the universe, intergalactic space, and the motion within the celestial sphere. Three lecture and two laboratory hours per week including instruction at the Planetarium and Observatory.
